Work in Progress: Matchmoving, Rotoscope - Virtual Set

Original Video
The original video was shot using a Panasonic AG-HVX200p at 720p. The camera was on a jib and slowly pans.

Rough Mask
Next I tracked a rough mask in Mocha for matchmoving and for parenting the more detailed rotosplines to the actress.

3D Tracking in Boujou
Then I tracked the footage in Boujou using the rough mask out of Mocha to mask out the actress.

Detailed roto
Created the detailed rotosplines.. So much work with loose flapping clothing. The detailed rotosplines are following the rough shapes tracking path which makes things go easier.

Maya rough scene
I brought just a few important points from Boujou into Maya and setup some rough scene geometry.

I made some rough geometry in Maya and brought the preview into After Effects to begin setting up the composite. I also brought in the camera data from Maya with some locators to make sure everything is matching up properly (which it eventually did). The blue square is a solid in After Effects matched up to a locator on a similar square in Maya so I can put whatever video or image I want on it in After Effects.

I redesigned the scene in Maya and added in a screen on a robotic arm -type-thing. The videos are 3D layers added in After Effects and parented to locators/nulls from Maya brought into After Effects. so they move with the animation from Maya.
